There are a few good ways to make sure that you have colour in your
garden all year round. The first is to plant massed annuals in succession
so that there is always something flowering. This can result in some
wonderful colour in the garden, but it is expensive and very hard
work.
Another way is to buy a plant (or three) which is in flower, every
month. That way, there will always be something flowering. It is even
better if you buy plants that spread or can be divided. You can increase
the 'WOW' factor by planting some annuals among perennials.
Another way to add colour to your garden is by using colourful garden
ornaments. They don't need to be gaudy or vulgar. A simple statue,
or a piece of garden art, is enough to lift the 'mood' of a dull garden.
An interesting log of wood, an old piece of machinery, or a terracotta
pot can add a touch of colour.
Happy gardening.
