Simple Garden Care
Gardening with Michael

Take care of the Soil:
Mulch is a great way to boost soil nutrients. It will help existing plants thrive as well as help to prevent weeds from sprouting. Essentially it is the lazy gardeners best friend and tool.

Composting as an Art:
Creating your own compost is great for the environment and it will encourage you to recycle food waste. Just about anything that is left over from the table can be recycled into compost. The list of exceptions though are important to keep in mind.

Good for composting:
Fruit waste
Leaves
Food waste

Bad for composting:
Bread or Cereal Products
Heavily coated or printed Paper
Meat products (some flowers such as Roses do like blood & bone)

Special Note:
The idea is to create an area in the garden where you can mix scraps into a mound of soil. Allowing the scraps to naturally break down and bind with the dirt. Creating a strong earthy smelling mixture.

Have fun gardening,
Michael
