Guide for the Perplexed

Title: A guide for the Perplexed
Author: E. F. Schumacker
ISBN: 0-09-948021-2
Pub: Vintage Press

Notes: This book could easily be explained in an equation outlined as a corner stone to the philosophy and paradigm of the book.

The corner stone or centre of the book could be explained with the equation that is used throughout it. In it is explained the Levels of being, m being matter, x life, y consciousness, and z self-awareness.

* mineral (m)
* plant (m + x)
* animal (m + x + y)
* man (m + x + y + z).

Over all, I found the book thoroughly a good read. A bit heavy at times. And it did once or twice seemingly repeat points it had already made. But for a good logical essay, it is a top read.

Thankfully Schumacker doesn't get bogged down in specialist words and jargon. Which sadly many writers who touch on such weighty subjects tend to do. He lays out the information in a way that is readily easy to understand and appreciate.
