Some books come to us many years after the author has passed away.
And over time the words seem to have taken on some sort of mystical
aspect. Perhaps not even originally imagined by the author themselves.
Kahlil Gibran has written books that for many have become deep and
spiritually profound tombs of secret knowledge and wisdom. In this
book 'Spirits Rebellious' he shares three unique stories.
The first seems to tell of the folly of misguided love. And love misplaced.
Do to the laws of man. And not the sacred laws of God and the heart.
The second tells us of the false judgement of some by the weak self
centred wisdom of others.
The third tells us of perhaps the writers own journey from what once
may have been the 'orthodox' laws of man.
Is there some deeper hidden secret meaning to these three seemingly
individual stories? That perhaps may be up to you and your imagination.
It can safely be said that the publication of these stories was enough
for them to be publicly burnt at the time. Leading the the book becoming
even more sought after. And the meaning being more searched.
Personally I found the book an interesting read. Though, I have yet
to find any deeper meaning. Other then the idea that the author was
somehow justifying his own choices in life. And making the most of
being politically unacceptable. Much the same way the author Salman
Rushdie did when he wrote his somewhat over rated book "The Satanic
Versus"*.

* Reviewers note: The Satanic Versus is a rather dull book.
