There are many mistakes that can be made when trying to apply a Western
Paradigm and Mentality to an Asian paradigm and Mentality. In this
translated book, filled with witty cartoons and blunt explanations;
we find that many of our Western ideals are challenged.
What we take for granted as being correct are seemingly ignored or
refuted by the ancient tactician Sunzi. As he explains the Art of
Warfare from an Asian point of view. As an example; In Western Culture
someone who discovers a spy would be rewarded for their efforts. While
in the teachings of Sunzi, both the spy and the person who found them
should be executed.
As a culture we need to come to terms with this difference. So as
to fully understand and fathom the gap between our two Worlds. This
short and somewhat ironically humorous book indirectly does this.
By challenging our dogmatic mindset of what we think they are thinking.
If that makes sense.
