Overview
and Review:
If you're looking for a "Bible for Idiots" or maybe a
"Bible Introduction 101" this book will suit you. Writen
by Philip Jensen and Tony Payne to help new Christians, older Christian
and even those curiously looking to understand the Bible. With a
range of useful content to help the reader come to terms with how
the Bible will help the importance and impact of prayer.
Following
from "Guidance and the Voice of God" (by the same authors)
this book distills the Bible's wisdom on one important topic. Prayer,
is explained in a chatty Australian style of linguistics. Unlike
other American and English Christian writen books; this one works
well with the target readers. As readers will understand there’s
a certain rhythm to Australian sentences and directness to our speech
that is nice to read on the page, and does feel like home.
Prayer and
the Voice of God works brilliantly in a Bible study or even in a
book club setting. There's plenty of scope to delve deeper and share
personal insights within the group. Within the book there's a lot
of direct reference to the Bible in it. The authours have managed
to include a great deal of scripture. With discussion questions
included at the back of the book as well as Bible passages for the
reader to look up. Which are often quoted in full within the chapters.
There will be plenty for the reader to chew on over a ten week study.
Certainly a
good resource for an organised and motivated Bible study group.
